COVID 19 (CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC)
We are currently still operating and undertaking work.
Given the interesting times we now find ourselves in, I just wanted to clarify our current position concerning the Coronavirus pandemic.
Following Government advice on Monday 23rd March we immediately ceased our work activities whilst waiting for further Government guidance for our industry.
Our professional trade body, the Arboricultural Association, wrote to the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) on 26th March seeking this guidance and received a reply on 2nd April from Defra minister Lord Goldsmith who advised:
'Arboriculturists should therefore be able to continue with outdoor work, where they can continue to follow Public Health England guidelines.'
The full letter from Lord Goldsmith (Defra) can be viewed by clicking here
As a result of this guidance, we are now operating again whilst following the Public Health England guidelines. This includes maintaining our social distancing as far as practicable, driving to site in separate vehicles and having hand washing facilities on site.
I appreciate that some customers may wish to put planned/potential works on hold in this time of uncertainty, and that is not a problem. Others are happy for us to turn up and carry out work whilst observing the guidelines.
Iíll therefore be contacting customers to see what their preference is, and to assess the potential risks and whether they are manageable. Iíll also be monitoring for any updated Government advice which could change our current situation.
All the best and stay safe.
